Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are the freshest rumoured hook-up everyone is talking about. The gossip started from the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and by now it has made so many headlines that it doesn’t feel like a rumour anymore. If you wanna take Sonakshi Sinha and Manish Malhotra’s word for it then Siddharth-Alia is the “break-up of the year” and Ranbir-Alia is the “hook-up of the year”.
Well, such sudden rumours do tempt everyone to dig up the past and we remembered this gem from Alia’s past – she had a huge crush on Ranbir and she even wanted to marry him. Alia reminisced about her first interaction with Ranbir on Karan Johar’s chat show in 2013.
“I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him’. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that’s very nice, Alia,'” She said.
“Obviously, I have hung out with him after that, and I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him,” the Raazi actress added.
In those days, Ranbir Kapoor was in a relationship with Katrina Kaif. So Karan asked her if his girlfriend Katrina was aware of Alia’s plan to marry Ranbir? To which she replied, “Everybody knows my plans. I have gone on record and I have said it. I’m very open about it except to Ranbir.”
The rumour is gaining momentum since Ranbir and Alia’s appearance at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s reception together. With Alia Bhatt’s blushing act during Aap Ki Adalat and Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir’s mom’s comment on Alia’s picture, the rumour is becoming more real by day.
Recently, on Aap Ki Adalat, when Alia was asked about her link-up with co-star Ranbir Kapoor, she couldn’t stop blushing and when Alia Bhatt wished her mother on Mother’s saying “Hello beautiful mommy. It’s your day. Today & everyday ” on Instagram, Neetu Kapoor’s response to it was “Aww”.
While Neetu Kapoor has never commented so positively on Ranbir’s previous relationships with A-list actresses, she was present at Alia’s birthday celebration.
Clearly, Alia and Ranbir also ran into Katrina at Sonam’s reception but just to clear out the rumour of Katrina and Alia’s bitterness, Karan Johar clicked a selfie with Alia and Katrina together.
Reports also suggest that the whole link-up drama is Karan Johar’s idea to fuel the popularity of the Brahmastra couple because of which Ranbir even had a fallout with KJo and Alia since the duo was trying to build up excitement for their upcoming film by feeding reports of their alleged affair. This certainly explains why Katrina isn’t upset with Alia anymore. It also explains why Alia isn’t clearing up the rumour, there’s neither a straight ‘yes’ nor a solid ‘no’. Although nothing can be confirmed, something might actually be brewing between the two, no one can reveal it except, the knower of all-things-Bollywood, KJo!
