If there’s one feud in the history of Bollywood that never got resolved and still keeps gossip columns buzzing, it is Salman Khan versus Vivek Oberoi.
It started 15 years back, way back in 2003!
Need help refreshing your memory about the Salman Khan-Aishwarya Rai-Vivek Oberoi saga? Well, Aishwarya had dated Vivek for a while – after breaking up with Salman. Salman had trouble accepting Vivek and Aishwarya’s relationship. Vivek called a press conference accusing Salman of drunk dialling him 41 times in the night and threatening to kill him. Salman, predictably, denied the allegations.
Ever since, Vivek Oberoi has been asking for Salman Bhai’s forgiveness. To his dismay, Bhai continues to hold a grudge against him. Salman has avoided Vivek at red carpet events, award shows and even press conferences.
Vivek is currently gearing up for his comeback film titled PM Narendra Modi. About a week ago, in a conversation with a leading daily, Vivek took a subtle dig at arch-rival Salman. He said, “I’m the guy whose professional obituaries have been surfacing since 2004. Due or no due, the fact is that I am still here, unbreakable.”
He further added, “I have worked in six languages and won around 20 awards and I still get some great work to do. Instead of being in the rat-race, and running to the finishing line, I am spending time watching my kids grow. Acting gives me joy, but so does playing football in the garden with my son and lighting up my daughter’s doll-house with her. I am on crazy schedule even now, but I don’t miss a chance to feed my bachchas and break bread with my wife and parents.”
But looks like he’s always ended up feeling guilty for what he’s done. Recently in an interview with a media portal, Vivek was asked if Salman Khan was given a truth serum, what would he ask him. To which, Vivek replied, ”Do you truly believe in forgiveness?”
Wow! He’s still trying to get into the Dabangg star’s good books. Is it about time he quits trying?
