Vicky Kaushal gives a new meaning to charisma. His screen presence, acting prowess and ability to captivate his audiences has made him a fan favourite.
He made his debut with Masaan and there has been no looking back ever since. The actor experimented with his look in Manmarziyaan and it became quite a rage. He received a lot of appreciation for his performance both from critics and fans. However, the film struggled at the box office and garnered mixed reviews.
Recently, Vicky appeared on a chat show with Manmarziyaan co-star Taapsee Pannu and made a shocking revelation.
On being asked to pick a film he regrets not doing, his answer was Stree. Yes! Not many know that Vicky Kaushal was the first choice for the horror comedy and not Rajkummar Rao.
He further revealed that he couldn’t take up the project because he was shooting for Manmarziyaan at the time.
Stree became one of the biggest hits last year and actor Rajkumar also won an award for his impressive performance.
Vicky has had an interesting journey in Bollywood so far. He’s picked the most unconventional roles, each different from the other.
Recently, in an interaction with IANS, Vicky was asked what makes him a game changer. The Uri actor said, “I guess following my gut and not really going by the rules of the book. As an actor, I have not really been stuck up with the kind of work that people around me are doing. If it’s a protagonist’s part, a secondary part or debuting with a film like Masaan, all these go against the textbook laws for any upcoming actor. I’ve just tried to follow my heart and I try and work on good projects with great directors. That’s what I’ve tried doing and I guess that’s what’s worked in my favour.”
Vicky has showcased his acting talent by his interesting choice of films. To this, the actor said, “I have not really cared about what the norm is. I want to set my own example. I want to set my journey as an example to others and not really follow anybody else’s journey.”
On the work front, Vicky is shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming biopic on freedom fighter Udham Singh. The film traces the life story of the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, who was the Governor of Punjab when the Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place in 1919.
