All the TV producers and actors have been thrown into confusion with the ongoing lockdown. Shoots have been effectively halted and with the entire entertainment and advertisement industry coming to a standstill, the makers are currently looking for ways to cut down on production costs. Currently, most of the TV actors and technicians seem to be in a crisis with so many of them waiting for their dues to be cleared and others being rendered absolutely jobless right now.
Owing to the general mood of anxiety and confusion in the industry of late, rumours have been doing rounds about a number of shows that had been running before the lockdown. Ekta Kapoor‘s Naagin, which would have been running in its fourth season had it not been for the current lockdown, has also been a part of these rumours with so many talking about the show going off-air and speculations about the cast of its next season.
Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram today to put an end to these rumours and clear the air about her popular show through an IGTV video. She opened the video by saying, “I have been asked constantly is Naagin 4 continuing? Is Naagin 5 starting?” In the video, she also announced two major developments.
“We are ending Naagin 4 with fantastic feels and then getting into Naagin 5 immediately,” she shared. Ekta further elaborated on the decision behind taking Naagin 4 off-air and that since the show has been left in the middle, it wouldn’t be possible for the production to continue from that point. She added that the team has decided to end with a fantastic conclusion that’ll make up for all the lapsed time.
Ekta also took the opportunity to thank the cast of season 4 that stood by the team all this while. She said, “Now what I really have to talk about is the actors. Nia, Anita, Jasmine, Vijendra, you guys have been outstanding. You guys have done a brilliant job. If anyone has let you down, it has to be me. I worked a little less on the story this time. So, I am trying to my best now and hoping to come back with a better season. And I hope you guys come back to watch the show and see what we are doing now.”
She added, “I hope viewers are excited for Naagin 5 because we have worked very hard on the script this time. We have worked very diligently to come up with a fantastic new season.”
Currently, a lot of speculations are being made about Naagin 5‘s cast and names like Hina Khan, Shivin Narang, and Krystle D’Souza are floating around. Ekta cleared all these rumours by saying, “As far as your suggestions go, I’ll take them all but I am sure if I would be able to cast those actors because it will depend on the script so no more rumours.”
She concluded the video by saying, “And I’ll be asking this question very soon, ‘Will you be my Naagintine?'”
