Actor Swara Bhasker is known for being outspoken. In fact, she has never shied away from speaking her mind, whether it is about women’s empowerment or environmental issue. This time, however, it seems like Swara is in trouble.
The Veere Di Wedding actor was caught with her foot in her mouth when she appeared on chat show Son Of Abhish. Recalling one of the first few commercials she worked on, she spoke about working with a four-year-old child actor. Swara said the shoot was disappointing and admitted that she got angry when the child called her “aunty”.
According to her, she didn’t swear at the child’s face, but thought it in her head. She also added that she believed all children are “basically evil”.
This statement obviously did not go down well with netizens on the internet, who started trolling her for using such harsh language for a child. Soon, the hashtag #Swara_aunty started going viral on Twitter. But that wasn’t all–according to a news website, an NGO called Legal Rights Protection Forum has reportedly filed a complaint to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and demanded action against Swara.
Swara was last seen in the highly-publicised Veere Di Wedding, and will next appear in Sheer Qorma. Do you think Swara will be able to wiggle out of this controversy unscathed?
