Getting married to someone from your field of work has its pros and cons, more cons than pros. I mean imagine coming home after a long day of work to discuss the same topic over and over again. Sounds stressful, right? I’ve often wondered what marriage for celeb couples must be like. Dealing with all that stress, travelling, working on films, and constantly talking about movies with your celeb partner must be exhausting. And it’s not just us. Earlier, Varun Dhawan and Shahid Kapoor too had spoken about not wanting to get married to someone from the industry. And this time around, another A-list star has opened up on the pros of marrying someone who isn’t from the same industry. It’s Sonam Kapoor, you guys!
Sonam recently shared how refreshing it was to not be married to a Bollywood star. In talks with a leading daily, Sonam said, “I’m really fortunate to have met somebody who is like-minded and a feminist. Thank god I didn’t meet somebody who is from the same industry as me because their worldview can be very limited. It’s all about what’s happening in Bollywood.”
On being asked if anything from her married life has surprised her, she said, “This is the first year that we’ve spent every night together. Usually, we travel so much. I’ve realised that we’re obsessed with each other and we have a lot of fun together.”
Sonam and Anand Ahuja met in London and dated for two years before tying the knot in 2018. They are currently living together in their London home. Sonam even opened up about her lifestyle there. She said, “I like the freedom here. I make my own food, clean my own space, shop for my own groceries.” She also added that the two love to spend their nights in and even dress up for it. Aww..how cute is that?
On the work front, Sonam was last seen in The Zoya Factor in 2019 and will be next seen in Blind, a remake of a South Korean thriller co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh. We gotta say that we’re really looking forward to watching Sonam weave her magic on-screen ASAP!
