Isn’t it beautiful when you read stories of partners supporting each other and encouraging them to work and make a name for themselves? And that’s what television couple Shilpa Saklani and Apurva Agnihotri do for each other. But, according to wife, Shilpa, the push might be a bit too much, it would seem.
Known to be one of the country’s original cute couples in the television industry, Shilpa and Apurva – who met on the sets of a popular TV serial – have been married for more than a decade now and are still very much the couple in love, after all these years.
You must have noticed Shilpa on the famous TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and a couple of more. She also appeared on Bigg Boss as one of the contestants. However, she is now ready to make a comeback to television after a hiatus, with Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Mahakaali — Anth Hi Aarambh Hai as Diti, the mother of all asuras.
To a leading daily, Shilpa spoke a lot about why she wants to return to acting on the small screen. “My husband (Apurva Agnihotri) and I are firm believers of Mata Rani. The show came at an auspicious time (Navratri) and there was no reason to say no,” she said in the interview.
She even spoke about the 4-year break that she took, stating “I took a break of four years and made only cameo appearances. It took five hours for me to get ready for the part during the look test, but now I take just about an hour for it.”
She went on to add, “In fact, when people fail to convince me to take up a daily soap, they call up my husband for it. I start crying when Apurva forces me to take up TV shows, so he tells me to go easy and take up whatever suits me.”
