I knew Selena Gomez as that chirpy little girl from Wizards of Waverly Place before she went on to not keeping her hands to herself! So, when the news of her suffering through Lupus came out, of course, my heart was breaking into pieces!
Though she has kept her lips sealed about her journey of recovery; except for one Instagram post thanking her friend, Francia Raisa, for donating her a kidney, Selena finally took the time to address the issue with all the seriousness and feels it needs.
At the Today Show on NBC, both Selena and Francia got chatty about how they came to the decision of donating a kidney and how it has absolutely changed both their lives.
On being asked if Selena feels like Francia saved her life, she promptly replied “Because she did. That’s it.”
In between tears, Gomez hoped that her journey would inspire other people and, if anything, their story is incredible. It’s almost like watching a movie about life, death and friendship.
