Sara Ali Khan became Bollywood’s new it-girl even before she made her debut in Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput–and it’s not just because she has famous parents! In a short period, Sara has earned praise from fans and critics alike for her talent, wit and for always being her honest, authentic self.
In several interviews in the past, Sara has never shied away from speaking candidly about her life, be it her parents’ divorce, her relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan or her weight loss journey. But fans got further insight into the relationship she shares with her mother Amrita Singh and brother Ibrahim Ali Khan after the siblings did a shoot together for a popular print publication.
In the interview, Ibrahim spoke about the special relationship he shares with his sister. He said, “The relationship we share is just perfect – we rarely fight and that’s perhaps because we have a five-year gap between us. On occasions that we do, it’s over the stupidest things. We are very close and love each other a lot.”
Awww, they’re giving us serious #siblinggoals!
While the world may know them as the royal Pataudis, Sara insists that she is a ‘normal, Juhu girl’. “That kind of thinking is anachronistic. Monarchy in our country ended with independence. I don’t believe in that at all. I actually find it quite ridiculous, to be honest. I haven’t grown up like that. I have grown up as a normal girl in Juhu…” she said.
An instance when she doesn’t mind being called a princess? “I am my father’s princess and my mother’s princess because I am their baby girl. Even if I was born anywhere else, I would be their princess,” said Sara.
If you’re also sick of being called ‘princess’, then you’ll love this cheeky T-shirt from POPxo’s clothing collection.
No wonder mom Amrita is all praises for Sara, calling her respectful and disciplined. “Sara is a very God-loving child and has immense respect for every belief. She is also an extremely disciplined girl, be it her work or her mind and body, I see the effort she puts in every day to keep the balance and that’s really commendable,” she said.
On Ibrahim, she said, “(He) is the ‘old soul’ in our home. He’s kind and gentle and has the most sorted mind. He’s gifted with the ability to face the harshest truth with a brave smile and a strong will to overcome any shortcomings.”
But is there anything about her kids that annoys her? “The one problem I have with them is that they are both extremely messy and untidy!”
Sara was last seen romancing Ranveer Singh in Simmba, which was loved at the box-office. She is currently filming Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2 and David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1. We sure are excited to see Sara return to the silver screen!
