Star kids Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor share a sister-like bond and major part of the credit goes to their parents who’ve never differentiated between the two. While Sanjay Kapoor is no less than a father figure to Ananya, his recent comment on her post sparked a storm on the internet.
Ananya wore a glittery and glamorous little black dress by Prabal Gurung for the red carpet of an award function and we couldn’t take our eyes off her. The actress shared a series of boomerang videos flaunting the dress on her Instagram. She captioned the post, “A dress so fun, just one boomerang isn’t enough.”
While many loved Ananya’s ruffled tube dress, it was Sanjay Kapoor’s comment that attracted most of the attention. You ask us why? Well, here’s what he wrote, “The dress is going to fall be careful.”
This remark by the actor triggered the troll army. While he faced backlash for what he said, some people, on the other hand, also supported him by defending his comment as a ‘healthy joke’. One person commented, “it seems you forget your boundaries.” Another one said, “They are close together like a family, they love and respect each other as father and daughter to each other, and he was just joking, a healthy joke, as every family friend does.”
If we were to closely observe Ananya’s relationship with the Kapoors, it would be right to say that Shanaya’s parents, Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are extremely fond of Ananya.
A few months ago, Sanjay Kapoor, shared a picture of the two, and without differentiating between them, captioned it, “Pretty Mad Girls ❤️❤️”
Even right before Ananya made her debut in Student Of The Year 2, Sanjay took to instagram and posted a video of adorable Ananya from 2016. He captioned it, “When I cracked a deal with Ananya 😂 , All the best my darling ,love u ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”. Doesn’t that show a father-daughter bond? Well, it does.
Meanwhile, Ananya has refrained from commenting on the controversy. And, while we (as audience) often tend to be over-critical of things, it is quite important to also act responsibly and not harm the sanctity of relationships in the process.
