After spending nearly a month in police custody following days of harrowing investigation in the drugs case leading up to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, actress Rhea Chakraborty was granted bail today by the Bombay High Court. She was arrested on September 8 post interrogation by the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB), which had concluded that she was “an active member” involved in using and supplying drugs even though notably, no traces of any illegal substance were found on her.
Rhea Chakraborty Granted Bail
While the court ruled in her favour, her brother, Showik Chakraborty’s bail was denied.
“Not Part Of Drug Dealers”
Countering the NCB’s report which had led to the arrest, the Bombay High Court held that Rhea Chakraborty was not a part of a drug nexus. “She is not part of drug dealers. She has not forwarded the drugs allegedly procured by her to somebody else to earn monetary or other benefits”, the court said while granting bail. There are still certain conditions that she will have to follow, including reporting to the nearby police station, submitting her passport and a bond of INR 1 lakh. During the proceedings, the court mentioned that everyone was equal in the eyes of the law and no celebrity enjoyed a special privilege.
The actress’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde also made a statement following the release order. “The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of the law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies, the CBI, ED and NCB of Rhea should come to an end. We remain committed to Truth. Satya Meva Jayate,” he said.
Back when she was taken into custody, her arrest had triggered a conversation around the lack of evidence, the patriarchal mindset and unjust media trials shaping the case. Only a few days ago, a team of doctors at AIIMS had unanimously come to the conclusion that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was by suicide, the statement putting the varied media houses and their prejudiced coverage into the scrutiny.

Rhea Chakraborty finally gets bail. She lost a month of her life only to satisfy the bloodthirsty hounds in our society. A witch hunt led by the media.

Hope her time in jail has sufficed the egos of a lot of people out there who in the name of justice for Sushant fulfilled their personal/professional agendas.Praying she doesn’t become bitter towards the life she has ahead of her.

People trending #KanganaAwardWapasKar please note: Kangana is no longer Jhansi ki Rani. That's a thing of the past. She's moved on.
She's started shooting for Thalaivi. She's J. Jayalalitha now.

Any shrill anchors apologising for the hell they put #RheaChakraborty and her family through? Didn’t think so. But watch them shift the goalpost now .. they’re notorious for that. https://t.co/4VGkKNn1GR

Really hope #RheaChakraborty files the harshest defamation case against Times Now and Republic.
It’s imperative not only for her own justice but also to curb unethical manic mass hysteria producing media.— Warisha Siraj🎭 (@WAR_ishaa) October 3, 2020
AIIMS and CBI have ruled out murder in SSR case.
No proof of siphoning off funds to Rhea Chakraborty account.
3 Govt agencies + Bihar Govt + Arnab Goswami + 80K fake accounts + Fake Jhansi ki Rani couldn't implicate Rhea.#KanganaAwardWaapasKar

I reject argument that "celebrities and role models should be treated harshly so that it sets an example. Everybody is equal before law."- Bombay HC order granting bail to #RHEACHAKRABORTY

Dear Kangna Ranaut, Arnab Goswami, Navika Kumar, Rahul Shivshankar & all the other toxic justice bots, you all owe this girl & her family an apology. https://t.co/1Vo30S5CzP

It's not about Justice for SSR, it's about injustice to Rhea Chakraborthy. Can Navika, Arnab and Kangana give her back what she has lost? Rhea must file multiple defamation cases against these Vultures.

#RheaChakraborthy gets bail
She was arrested without possession of drugs by NCB on 8th Sep
She was arrested as nothing was found by CBI&ED against her in SSR case
She was arrested as farcical campaign #justiceforSSR was getting TRPs & she was pronounced guilty without trial.

Big breaking : Very soon Navika kumar may come up with the chilling Whatsapp chat of HC Judge.

Are the people who disreputed Rhea @Tweet2Rhea for @itsSSR suicide going to apologise for all their venom and abuse? Especially the family of SSR needs to apologise first for putting a young girl through such trauma even though they lost their son for no fault of hers.

Here’s hoping that this puts the baseless news, trolls and conjectures to rest.
