It is a truth universally acknowledged that Ranveer Singh is the king when it comes to taking fashion risks…and he always (mostly) emerges victorious! Whether it’s crazy prints, outrageous colours or androgynous outfits, he has done it all! And honestly, it is quite refreshing to see a man in Bollywood giving zero fucks about what people think of what he wears.
Recently, Ranveer celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary with wifey Deepika Padukone, and as usual, the couple looked regal AF in all their pictures. To mark this special event, DP and Ranveer visited the Tirupati Temple and a day later, the Golden Temple.
In typical DeepVeer fashion, the couple chose to be dressed by their favourite designer, none other than Sabyasachi. Fans were in awe of DP’s stunning maroon salwar kameez that she wore to the Golden Temple. Ranveer also received a lot of praise for his floral printed kurta-pyjama plus Nehru jacket ensemble.
However, the internet soon erupted when Sabyasachi posted a photo of actor Rani Mukherjee wearing a similar outfit. Have a look for yourself!
Not that there’s anything wrong with two actors wearing the same outfit by a popular designer. I mean, it happens all the time. Plus, the fact that Rani and Ranveer chose the same outfit proves the versatility of the designer…gender norms be damned!
Sadly, the trolls didn’t agree. Soon, comments started flooding Sabyasachi’s picture suggesting that he made Rani’s outfit from leftover material from Ranveer’s clothes.
We still can’t believe that the internet is giving Sabyasachi hate for something so trivial. So what if Ranveer and Rani decided to wear the same outfits? We think that they both rocked it in their own way, and that’s what really matters–the trolls can take a hike!
On the work front, Ranveer Singh is all geared up for the release of 83, in which he will be playing former Indian skipper Kapil Dev. The movie also stars his real-life wife Deepika Padukone as his reel wife and the movie is slated for a release in April 2020. Rani Mukerji, on the other hand, will soon be appearing in Mardaani 2 and the movie’s trailer has just been released.
