True we gave away the whole story in the headline but it amazes us to think about the lengths people go to in an attempt to go viral. Earlier today, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding invite went viral after massive circulation on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and even WhatsApp. #Ralia (as we like to call them) is already the talk of the town ever since the couple made a news-breaking entry at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding reception together.
It all started (officially) in May of 2018 but their pictures together are still imprinted in our minds like the alphabets. Alia in her lime green Sabyasachi lehenga and Ranbir in his white sherwani, ah!
The big fat #Ralia wedding has been a favourite topic for rumour mills with sources confirming their 2020 wedding and whatnot. But this time, someone printed a fake wedding invite confirming Ranbir and Alia’s engagement on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. No, we are not kidding!
However, the invitation card was immediately deemed fake thanks to obvious mistakes such as Alia’s name spelt as ‘Aliya’, uncle Mukesh Bhatt mentioned as Alia’s father instead of Mahesh Bhatt, and the date written as January ’22th’ instead of 22nd. Crazy, isn’t it? Have a look for yourself:
In the viral picture, you can see a blue-coloured sagan ceremony invite highlighted in the front with a decorated box containing their wedding invite and empty space on the side for wedding favours in the background. Talk about details!
Sources close to the Raazi actress confirmed The Quint that: the invitation is fake and no such announcement has been made by either of the two celebrities involved. In fact, this morning when Alia was spotted at the airport, a photographer asked her if the fake news was actually true. The 27-year-old laughed it off and continued walking, only to turn around later and say, “Kya bataaun! (what should I tell?)” We bet that’s blush that we see there next to her dimple. RK and AB will be seen together on the silver screen for the first time ever in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra as Shiva and Isha. The film is set to release in 2020. Let’s see which will come first–the film or their real wedding invite. But until the day comes (if it does), read all about Ralia’s love story here.
