Indian cinema incurred a huge loss this year as veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on May 30th. Obviously shaken by the grief, the Kapoor family has been spending a lot of time together since then and looking after each other during the tough time. Last month, Neetu had also shared an image on Instagram and recollected Rishi’s two-year-long battle with cancer in the caption and how the family has been fairing since his death. “For us, as a family, the last two years have been a long journey. There were good days, there were a couple of bad days too.. needless to say, it was full of high emotion,” she wrote.
Since Rishi’s demise, both Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni have been busy taking care of Neetu Kapoor who has been maintaining commendable strength and poise as she grieves the loss of the love of her life. It was Neetu’s birthday on Wednesday i.e. July 8 and the Kapoor siblings ensured to have a little get together to cheer up their mom on the occasion. The Kapoors threw an intimate dinner party for Neetu and among their close family and friends, Karan Johar was also a part of the celebration.
Later in the night, Neetu took to Instagram to share pictures from the celebration and wrote “The richest are the ones with good relationships!!! We all need love, support strength from our loved ones always….I feel the richest today.”
In one of the pictures shared by Neetu, Ranbir can be seen giving a tight hug to his mom as they stand in front of a family portrait. Neetu can also be seen all thronged with friends and family including Riddhima, granddaughter Samara, sister-in-law Reema Jain, Agastya, and Karam Nanda as they sing and clap for her while she cuts the cake.
Last month, Riddhima also got an adorable puppy for her mom to cheer her up and Neetu has since not stopped gushing about her “cute button Doodle.”
It is rather endearing to see how Ranbir and Riddhima have taken it upon themselves to bring their mother out of her grief and lift her spirits. Also commendable is the grace shown by Neetu all this while as she gathers herself. Here’s wishing more such celebrations to the family!
