Actor Radhika Apte has been scaling new heights with every passing day, literally! The super talented artist entered the film industry in 2005 with a stellar theatre record and has been successful in making a distinct spot for herself. The latest feather to her cap is her nomination at the 2019 International Emmy Awards as Best Actress for Lust Stories.
Radhika also shared her joy with her fans by announcing the news on her Instagram. Here’s what she wrote, “We got three Emmy nominations!!! 1.Radhika Apte (best actress-Lust Stories) 2.lust stories (best miniseries) 3.Sacred Games (best Drama)”.
There’s no stopping this brilliant actress! Don’t you think?
India has received four nominations in total at the 2019 International Emmy Awards. The rest of the three nominations (other than Radhika Apte) are in three different categories: Sacred Games for best drama, Lust Stories for best TV movie, and The Remix for best reality TV. Radhika Apte’s competitors, on the other hand, include Jenna Coleman for The Cry, Marjorie Estiano for Brazil’s Sob Pressao 2 and Marina Gera for Hungary’s Orok Tel.
There are nominations for a total of 11 categories at the 2019 International Emmys. While Sacred Games has been nominated alongside Brazilian drama 1 Contra Todos, the German series Bad Banks, and the British crime drama McMafia, Lust Stories is up against Brazil’s Se Eu Fechar os Olhos Agora, Australia’s Safe Harbour, and Hungary’s Trezor. The Remix is nominated up against other reality shows from across the globe including the ones from Argentina, Belgium, and the UK.
For Radhika, who has been riding high on success, the prestigious nomination comes days after the actress bagged Apple TV’s upcoming series Shantaram, based on Gregory David Roberts’ bestselling novel of the same name. Radhika will play Kavita, an Indian journalist searching for answers. One of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, there’s almost nothing that Radhika can’t achieve!
The 47th International Emmy Awards will be held on November 25 at the Hilton, New York. We wish Radhika all the luck! Go, make India proud!
