Desi Girl, Take 2: Priyanka Chopra Dazzles In Ivory & Gold At Marrakech Film Festival

Priyanka Chopra Jonas isn’t just one of the top-grossing stars of Indian cinema, she is a global icon, and rightly so. But, that’s not the only reason why we love her so much. Apart from all this, she also uses her platform for the greater good. She’s a philanthropist and has been a part of many United Nations projects for women empowerment.

The past few days have been exhilarating for the actress. Just a day after she received the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award from UNICEF on Thursday, the Quantico star was honoured at the Marrakech Film Festival for her contribution to cinema.

The event was held at the renowned Jemaa el-Fna square and PC chose to wear a dazzling gold saree for the award function. She took to Instagram to express her love and gratitude. She wrote, “To think that my career started nearly 20 years ago is surreal. I am honored and proud to be recognized tonight at the Marrakesh Film Festival. Thank you, truly, to everyone who came out to Jemaa el Fna square. #Gratitude. Thank you @melitatoscan @festivaldufilmdemarrakech.”

The saree designed by the esteemed designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Kholsa was hand-embroidered with mukaish and sequin detailing along with a floral zardozi border. The designers describe it as an, “ivory Badle saree”. PC wore the saree with a gold bandeau and we can safely say that she absolutely rocked it.

As for her makeup, Piggy Chops chose to go with a flawless, bronze base, well-defined brows, and fluttering lashes. And that coral lipstick along with a coral blush is just the touch of colour that she needed.

This is the first time that an Indian celebrity is being honoured at the festival. Well, it’s a well-deserved win for our very own desi girl. Wow!
