Our country is currently dealing with the second wave of coronavirus and the situation is scarier than ever. The surging COVID-19 cases have severely burdened our healthcare system, and a general sense of panic and anxiety prevails. In fact, my social media feed is flooded with stories that are describing the horrors of the pandemic. My heart goes out to all the healthcare workers who are risking their lives every minute to save others, as well as the people who are suffering or coping with the loss of their loved ones.
While the nation is trying to cope with this nightmarish situation, in an alternate universe, Bollywood celebrities are jetting off to tropical islands to get rid of their ‘lockdown blues.’ Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were recently spotted leaving for the Maldives and netizens are not having any of it.
Maharashtra has become one of India’s COVID-19 hotspots and several B-town celebs have tested positive for the virus as well. In fact, Alia and Ranbir recently recovered and announced on their social media handles that have tested negative. However, some social media users wondered if they have donated plasma while others called them out for going on a vacation in the middle of a pandemic. Take a look:
#RanbirKapoor and #AliaBhatt both are covid recovered why nobody is asking them to donate plasma !!

Is this why we have made them heroes?@aliaa08 shameless people you all are🤢🤮🤮
Coronavirus Cases are increasing in India and then people like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will blame common man for increasing positive cases 😕. They are going to Maldives and then will advice others" Please stay at home, stay safe 😷".

Tiger Shroff & Disha Patani
Rumoured couple Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani also chose to fly off to the Maldives for a vacation recently. Turning a blind eye to the current pandemic, the actress flaunted some bikini pictures on ‘Gram (once again). Ironically, Tiger shared an Instagram story that urged people to stay at home (while he was on a vacation) and that did not sit well with the netizens at all.
Other B-Town Celebs
Other B-town celebs like Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan have been sharing videos and pictures from their holiday destinations as well. Sure, the actors have the luxury of leaving the country in the middle of the pandemic. But, we wonder how sensitive it is for them to pretend that the pandemic is imaginary and we are not facing a crisis?
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind our celebs that the country is facing a global health emergency. Maybe it’s time they understood that flaunting their extravagant lifestyles when people are struggling to stay alive is downright insensitive.
