It’s raining babies in the celeb world! From Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Karanvir Bohra-Teejay Sidhu, Anita Hassanandani-Rohit Reddy and Nakuul Mehta-Jankee Parekh, baby announcements have been pouring in non-stop. While we always love to get a glimpse of the newborn, it is the name of Nakuul and Jankee’s first child that has left us pleasantly surprised.
Taking to Instagram, the most fashionable television couple shared an adorable video that revealed the gender-neutral name of their baby boy. The excited new parents shared that they decided upon the name ‘Sufi’ in the early days of their pregnancy.
While Jankee shared the video, Nakuul shared a picture on his Instagram account with a caption that read, “‘Sufi’ – A name that we decided when we were 3 months pregnant for our to-be firstborn, irrespective of the gender. Sufi symbolises spirituality, art, philosophy, literature, soul, song and everything that we stand for & beyond. From the time you were born, you have filled up our lives and hearts with so much love and if I’m allowed to customise this caption dictated by the Missus, sleepless nights.”

But wait, that’s not all because the couple has created a separate Insta account for baby Sufi and we’re super excited for all the cuteness coming our way!
In a recent interview, Nakuul also opened up about the birth of his first child and shared that it was a surreal and emotional moment for him. “It was overwhelming to be in the operation theatre (OT) besides my wife, and watch my child being born. I had heard it often enough, but nothing prepares you for that kind of rush. It’s surreal, deeply emotional and yet magical in so many ways. I’m not sure if the fact that I’m a father has sunk in completely yet. We’re only a week into this, but I do feel infinite compassion and love for this new life and for everybody around me,” said the actor.
Nakuul further added that he video called his and Jankee’s parents from the OT and then screenshotted their reactions when they were told about the birth of their grandchild.
Earlier, on February 3, Nakuul and Jankee shared an adorable photo of them holding the hand of their baby boy to let us know about the birth of their first child. “February 3, 2021. This is Us.
