The festive season is winding down but the surprises aren’t over and a strong case of it is Malaika Arora’s recent look. Though we can always trust her to put her best foot forward, this one is unique and stellar in many ways. TBH, we think trying it out at home to perfect the drape style well in advance may not be a bad idea either!

A Concept Saree + Jacket
Channelling a mix of old-school appeal and contemporary style, the Bollywood actress won us over with her recent look—a Tarun Tahiliani saree. It’s not as if concept sarees with distinctive drapes are any less acclaimed, but Malaika Arora’s pick was as individual as it gets. Draped at the front with an asymmetrical look and pleats that cascaded down, the jersey-draped saree had its fair share of details. A metallic glimmer was centre stage in the light-weight, fluid version which came paired with a cropped jacket incorporating texture and 3/4 sleeves. Rich with embroideries and inclusive of precious stones such as pearls, emeralds and rubies, the outerwear complemented the drape perfectly. Also included in Malaika Arora’s festive look was a belt holding the drape in place.

Jewellery, Hair & Makeup
Styled by Maneka Harisinghani, the 47-year-old pulled out all the stops with her elaborate jewellery picks. All out and on the forefront were a matha patti, a ring, a neckpiece and bangles, each with a rustic look and intricate details to boot.
Going a step further, Malaika Arora’s hair was styled in a neat bun accompanied with white flowers, her makeup incorporating a hint of eyeshadow and eyeliner, chiselled cheekbones and a lip colour on the dark side of the colour spectrum.
