Zits are like uninvited guests who come into your house, make themselves comfortable and refuse to leave. Just that instead of your house, it’s your skin we’re talking about. Pimples form when dead skin cells and bacteria mix with sebum and eventually, clog your pores. There are different types of acne and each of them requires special treatments as the pimple matures. However, if the pimple has just popped up, there are a few ways to nip it in the bud.
5 Lightning-Fast Ways To Shrink A Pimple
Remember, no matter how tempted you may be, you must never pop that zit! Ain’t nobody got the time to deal with permanent marks and scars later on.
1. Clay Mask To The Rescue!
Clay masks have the power to draw impurities out of your skin. Excess sebum, bacteria, dirt and oil–your clay mask will do a wonderful job of pulling out all of that and more from your skin. What’s amazing is that it will also reduce the excess oily shine from the skin and mattify your complexion.
2. Use A Product That Contains 2% Salicylic Acid

You need to understand that salicylic acid has no control or effect on sebum production and neither does it kill bacteria. What it does it that it unclogs your pores and keeps the skin free from irritants. If your skin is prone to acne, look for a skincare product that contains 2% of salicylic acid. Don’t go overboard though with salicylic acid as it can irritate your skin and dry it out.
3. Slap On A Pimple Patch
Pimple patches are great for pus-filled acne and blackheads. However, they’re not effective against cystic acid. Made from hydrocolloid, these tiny pimple patches act like vacumes and suck out all the gunk from your pores. You’ve got to leave them on for 24 hours. Once they turn opaque in colour, you know they’ve completed the mission of sucking out all the debris from the pores. If you don’t have pimple patches at home, you can always learn how to make one from scratch.
4. Hydrocortisone Cream Is A Superhero

You’ll be able to find a hydrocortisone cream at any chemist pan India. It’s a cream that’s meant to be applied on the skin to treat acne, swelling, itchiness and redness. Dot the acne with this cream and leave it on for 15 minutes and later wash it off with lukewarm water. This should calm the zit and reduce its size.
5. Tea Tree Oil For The Win
Known for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, tea tree oil helps reduce inflammation and prevent acne from occurring again. You need to dilute tea tree oil first with a carrier oil such as olive and coconut and with the help of a cotton pad, dab it on the pimple. Wash it off after a couple of hours and moisturise your skin later.
We hope these tiny ways help you get rid of those zits for good. See ya never, acne!
