Actress Lara Dutta’s latest Instagram post will take you on a nostalgic trip down the memory lane- all the way back to 2000. The post is a picture from her pageant days, featuring her fellow winners Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza. The picture is a collage of the actresses’ then and now look.
Captioning the priceless image, Lara wrote, “I had posted the above picture a while ago but came across this edit on #instagram and really loved it! THEN & NOW! Coming up to 20 years you guys @diamirzaofficial @priyankachopra !!!!! I love you both loads!!! 💕💕💕. So happy we’ll always have this that ties us together! One for the Motherland!”
In 2000, Lara Dutta was crowned Miss India Universe while Dia Mirza won Miss India Asia Pacific title. Priyanka bagged the first runner-up title. There was, however, a tie between Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra. In the same year, all three actresses, Lara, Priyanka and Dia went on to win the international titles in their respective categories – Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific. Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra even worked together, three years after winning the titles, in their first Bollywood movie, Andaaz opposite Akshay Kumar.
This is not the first time that the beauty queens have shared some epic moments from the historic year. Priyanka, while wishing Lara on her birthday on April 16, 2015, posted a throwback picture too.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra has made her way to becoming a global icon. The actress has a strong foothold, both in Bollywood and Hollywood. An established star in India, Priyanka gained worldwide popularity, for her portrayal of Alex Parish on the ABC series Quantico. She has also been roped for Robert Rodriguez’s Netflix feature ‘We Can Be Heroes‘ where the actor will be seen sharing screen space with Pedro Pascal, Christian Slater, and Boyd Holbrook.
Lara Dutta, also had a successful Bollywood career as she appeared in over 30 films. The actor is now seen judging various beauty pageants & also last appeared in the Television drama ‘Beecham House‘.
Dia Mirza, on the other hand, is now associated with various environment & climate-related cause. Having done a couple of movies in Bollywood, she is often seen attending events and walking the ramp as well.
Well, this gem of a picture shared by Lara has indeed dipped us into nostalgia! 2000 was a glorious year for India, we not only cherish these memories but also hope for history to repeat itself soon.
