Vicky Kaushal is proof that nice guys do not finish last. The Manmarziyaan actor appeared on Koffee With Karan last night and was charming as ever. We saw sides of the actor quite different from eccentric characters he plays onscreen, some of which were hilariously funny and other surprisingly real. We found out some things we had not known before about the actor from his debut on the Koffee couch. Take a look!
1. He’s Watched ALL Koffee With Karan Episodes
If there ever was a KWK pop quiz, you know now which celebrity you’d want in your team. While Ayushmann Khurrana told Karan that he had stopped watching his show right around the time Vicky Donor was released, Vicky admitted that, like most of us, he’s binged on all the episodes.
2. His No Plan, Plan About Being An Actor
Although he always harboured plans about being this big Bollywood ‘hero’, Vicky admitted at the beginning of the episode that he did not have any plans about following this career full-time. He was questioning his decision early in his career and admitted that it still felt surreal to see himself on a movie poster.
3. Vicky’s Naya & Serious Relationship
Rumour has it that rumour has it that the Vicky is dating TV actress Harleen Sethi. So, in the first segment of the episode, when Karan asked Vicky if he was dating someone, the look on his face was priceless! Vicky admitted he was seeing someone. He added that he was serious about his newfound love.
4. The One Time He Lost His Sh*t When SRK Called
Vicky’s reaction to SRK calling him at one in the night was all of us. The actor was in his pyjamas at home when the Badshah of Bollywood phoned him to congratulate him for Lust Stories. Vicky was first dumbstruck that King Khan was calling him and then overjoyed that he liked his work.
5. Your Typical Mumma’s Boy
Vicky’s friend and fellow actor Anand Tiwari revealed in the videos that Vicky is a Mumma’s boy. Even on vacation, the actor made it a point to call his mother every morning and take her through the entire previous day’s routine, including what he ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
6. That Time When Vicky’s Pants Nearly Came Off On Stage
When we were being shown videos of Vicky’s friends were revealing his secrets, his brother shared a funny story about how Vicky was barely managing to hold on to his pants during a school dance performance. He was left with trying to keep his ‘dignity’ intact while also performing. That would have been probably been one of his most difficult acts to pull off!
7. The Ross Gellar Connection: Vicky Can’t Flirt
When Love Per Square Foot producer Amritpal Singh Bindra revealed that Vicky was bad at picking up signs that he is being flirted with, we admit it was a tad hard to believe. Apparently, the actor totally blew past a girl who was flirting with him at a party because he did not pick up on the cues at all. Instead, he ended up going out with someone else at the same event.
8. He Can’t Watch A Horror Movie
Here’s another surprising thing we didn’t know – Vick Kaushal hates watching horror movies. His brother told us that the Raman Raghav 2.0 actor is so terrified of them that he cannot watch them even in broad daylight.
9. He’s A Thorough Gentleman
In the rapid fire round, Karan asked Vicky about the first thing he notices in a woman. The actor said that he notices how generous her smile is. Both Karan and Ayushmann were pleasantly surprised with the answer, with Karan even calling it ‘deep’.
10. When He Had A Big Fan-Boy Moment Over Katrina Kaif
When Katrina had appeared on KWK earlier this season, she had said that she and Vicky would look great onscreen. In a typical fanboy moment, Vicky was gasping with delight when Karan revealed the same in the rapid fire round. He even pretended to faint at the news, leaving Ayushmann and Karan in fits of laughter.
11. He’s Probably Taking The ‘Answer Of The Season’ Award
Often celebrities are vague and diplomatic on the couch, which was why it was refreshing to see both Vicky and Ayushmann go all out and have straight answers. When Karan asked Vicky which director he’d like to work with next, he took his time and came up with one of the answers of the season. He said that while Karan and Rajkumar Hirani had made him reach all the houses in the nation, it was Anurag Kashyap who had taken him to Karan and Raju Hirani’s doors in the first place. We are weighing that answer against Aamir Khan’s “Bhai nahi dubega” reply earlier this season.
