Things only seem to be going downhill for Kartik Aaryan this year. In the past few months, the actor seems to have lost not one, not two but three significant projects. Needless to say, a lot of rumours are doing rounds about his apparent star attitude and alleged lack of professionalism. After all, it is not every day that Dharma Productions makes a public announcement after replacing an actor, right?
Back in April, the production house had officially announced on social media that they are recasting for Dostana 2 after shooting almost half of the film. “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence–we will be recasting ‘Dostana 2’, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” the statement read. It was a big deal and even before we could get over the shock, rumours about Kartik being ousted from two other projects started doing rounds.
The rumours are still going strong and the actor hasn’t commented on any of them yet. However, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has now posted an interesting tweet on the matter thus presenting it to us in a different light. He took to the microblogging site yesterday to comment on the controversy and wrote, “And by the way… when Producers drop Actors or vice versa they don’t talk about it. It happens all the time. This campaign against Kartik Aryan seems concerted to me and very bloody unfair. I respect his quiet.”
Well, this tweet actually explains a lot about what’s actually going on with Kartik right now. As we said, it is not every day that Dharma Productions publically expresses its displeasure with an actor. Perhaps, the production house is miffed and seems like Kartik is facing the toll. Anubhav’s tweet comes just days after rumours of Kartik being dropped from an Aanand L Rai film started doing rounds. Aanand had also been claiming that he actually never signed a film with Kartik.
Anubhav’s tweet clearly hints at a deliberate plot to malign Kartik’s image. And after his tweet, netizens have started suspecting foul play and are saying that the nepotism gang and Karan Johar are deliberately after Kartik’s life. Here is what some of them have to say:
