After the success of Dostana in 2008, Karan Johar is all set to relive the experience with a sequel!
Today, he finally revealed that Dostana 2 will have Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. But he left us hanging for more information… The suspense still remains about the third actor! Dharma Production’s recent tweet, announcing the film, has us wondering who is the ‘suitable boy’ who will star opposite this dynamic duo.

Karan Johar, who will be producing the film, shared the video with the tweet, “The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! @TheAaryanKartik, #Janhvi & a soon to be launched fresh face – making it the trio for #Dostana2, directed by @CollinDcunha. Watch out for the third suitable boy!”
The first installment of the film, Dostana released in 2008 and starred Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. The film follows the story of two men, played by John and Abhishek, who pretend to be gay in order to rent an apartment with Priyanka, who they later develop romantic feelings for.
While we know that Janhvi and Kartik will play the lead, the prospect of a fresh face who will play the role of the third wheel has us at the edge of our seats!

While talking to a leading newspaper, Karan Johar said, “I am excited to take the Dostana franchise forward with Kartik and Janhvi, and can’t wait to create some desi boy-girl madness with them. This is Dharma Productions’ first film with Kartik and we look forward to working with him. We will also be introducing a new male lead, who will join the incredible talent at our production house. Collin D’Cunha also makes his (Bollywood) directorial debut with Dostana 2.”
While Colin D’Cunha will be making his directorial debut with Dostana 2, he’s not new to the industry. He has previously worked as an assistant director in hit films like Talaash, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and PK.
Speaking of the lead couple, while Kartik Aaryan is wrapping up the shoot for his movie, Love Aaj Kal 2 (tentatively titled) opposite Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor is shooting for the biopic of the Indian Air Force fighter pilot, Gunjan Saxena, titled Kargil Girl.
