India’s COVID-19 crisis continues to worsen with the increasing number of new cases every day. Surely, this is no time to get reckless with your health. For the situation to get better, we need to take the COVID-19 safety protocols seriously–stay at home if possible and mask up properly every time we go out. Sadly, some people still wouldn’t give two hoots about being safe despite the pressing situation. Of course, this gets all the more frustrating for those who have diligently followed the precautionary measures all this while but are suffering ‘coz of some covidiots. Well, seems like Kareena Kapoor is also tired of the people playing around with their health and taking the pandemic lightly.
The actress recently took to Instagram and urged everyone to get a grasp of the problem at hand and be responsible. “It’s unimaginable for me to know that there are still many people who do not understand the gravity of the situation our country is in. The next time you step out, or wear your mask under your chin, or flout the rules, spare a thought for our doctors and medical staff. They are at a breaking point, both mentally and physically. Each one of you reading this is responsible for breaking the chain. Now more than ever, India needs you,” she wrote.
However, the netizens were in no mood for any celeb gyaan. They asked her to share the same wisdom with her cousin Ranbir Kapoor who was recently spotted at the airport after returning from his Maldives holiday with Alia Bhatt.
Soon enough, netizens united to remind Kareena of the terrible example that her fellow celebs have been setting up all this while.
Here’s how people reacted to the post:
Well, this is not the first time that Ranbir and other celebs have come under the public scanner for their shameless show of privilege. It all boils down to personal responsibility in the current times. Given that the B-Town celebs are watched and followed by so many, it would be great if they start setting better examples.
Priyanka Chopra, for instance, recently set up a fundraiser to help India with the current crisis. Other celebs have also been making donations for the mitigation program and amplifying resources and requirements on social media. Well, here’s hoping that more celebs take the cue, “understand the gravity of the situation” and join us in this tough fight against the coronavirus.
Lastly fam, do not forget that the onus lies on us as well and the least that we can do is follow the safety protocols!
