Whether Bollywood industry admits it openly or not but it does engage in, and promote, nepotism. It has existed in the industry since time immemorial. Celebrity kids are born with a silver spoon in their mouth and mostly have it easier as compared to the outsiders who wish to step into the world of glamour.
Even though nepotism has been the reason behind star kids getting their first break, it became a debate only after Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar “a flag bearer of nepotism” on his popular chat show Koffee With Karan. This debate only got bigger with more participants joining it ever since.
We all know how many star kids have Karan launched in the movies. But he’s sick of being called out for nepotism.
Recently, the grapevine suggested that Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor have been roped in for Dostana 2, which starred Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in its prequel.
But yesterday, filmmaker Karan Johar rubbished all rumours by putting out a tweet regarding the same.
