Post her father’s sudden demise, the past month has been particularly trying for Hina Khan. She was shooting in Kashmir when she was told about her dad’s cardiac arrest and she quickly rushed to Mumbai for his last rites. She tested positive for COVID-19 soon after that. Since then the actress has been mostly missing from social media and it was only recently that she started posting again for the promotions of her upcoming music video.
As part of the promotion activities, Hina recently took to Instagram and talked about the trying month in a candid live. She started the chat by sharing that while she isn’t exactly in the condition of interacting with her fans at the moment, she is doing it to fulfill her ‘prior work commitments’. She further shared that she has finally tested negative.
“I am okay and much better. I have tested negative, but I still have some cough and some heaviness on my chest. I am on the road to recovery. It will take some time,” Hina shared while updating fans about her health. She also talked about how she contracted the virus and honestly accepted that she wasn’t mindful enough to take proper precautions while returning from Kashmir.
She shared, “I think, while returning from Kashmir, I was not in a state of mind to take precautions but thank god, my family tested negative. I know I did not take precautions, and hence, I tested positive. I am fine now, but I still have discomfort. My doctor said it will take time.” Hina Khan also talked about how she hasn’t been able to fast during Ramadan because of COVID-19-induced weakness and everything that was happening around her.
During the live, Hina thanked her fans for their constant support. She said, “People have been checking on me. They kept sending me messages. I just cannot tell you how overwhelmed I am with the blessings I have received.” Throughout the live stream, followers kept asking her if she was doing alright and she finally addressed the question by tearing up a little and saying, “I am my daddy’s strong girl,” adding that she is “wearing his T-shirt. I wear his clothes.”
