But now, it’s time to face the changes it will bring to your dating life. As per an article by Times Of India – Here’s how GST will affect your dating game, Modi government will make this tax applicable from 1st July, which is tomorrow. And it will pretty much affect everything you indulge in while you’re on your romantic tryst. So if you are making plans for a late night date for today, here’s why it won’t be the same anymore!
1. Because planning a dinner date would be better in a 5-star now!
Good news first! You might just prefer your date at a 5-star restaurant or a luxury hotel over a non-ac one because the GST is reducing to 18 per cent from 28 per cent. So, dinner at 12 maybe?
2. Because ‘Skore-ing’ will now be a little difficult!
Planning to stay-in-bed and *Skore*? Tax will increase on TTK Protective Devices, a Chennai-based company that manufactures Skore condoms so…if that’s your favourite brand, you might want to think through your plans. Although, the prices for other condom and contraceptive brands will remain unaffected.
3. Because single-screen theaters will be your go-to option now!
If you enjoy that old-fashion charm then less than 100 INR movie tickets which are usually for single-screen theaters will be cheaper as GST has come down from 28 per cent to 18 per cent.
4. Because a short trip with bae will be better in economy class than business!
Fly out to some nearby destination with bae but perhaps in economy class because the tax on it will reduce from 6 per cent to 5 per cent. Business class prices although, will increase as GST goes up from 9 per cent to 12 per cent.
5. Because you’ll love taking cab rides with bae now!
Ride in whichever cab you want to, as much as you want to…try out weekend getaways too. The tax is going down from 6 per cent to 5 per cent…YAY!
6. Because the night in a cozy hotel room will be different!
Hotels under 1000 INR will remain as they were but luxury hotels…uh oh! GST is increasing between 12-28 percent depending on their room rates.
7. Because makeup might cost you a bit more than before!
Girls, believe us when we say – you are beautiful just the way you are and also because the tax on grooming products is rising from 22 per cent 26 per cent…grrrrr!
8. Because buying that perfect summer dress for a day out with bae will be easier!
Your dresses up to 1000 INR only, are about to get cheaper as GST will reduce from 7 per cent to 5 per cent.
9. Because buying those AWESOME new heels to charm him may or may not be the same!
If those *new* heels you are buying for your date are under 500 INR, the tax would be 5 percent which has come down from 9.5 percent that you pay now. But wait…what? Above 500 INR GST will increase from 23.10 per cent to 29.58 per cent.
So get set go and plan your date!
