The year 2020 will be remembered as the year that introduced us to the novel coronavirus, cyclone Amphan, cyclone Nisarga, locusts attack, and also many brilliant web shows because of all the home time. After all, there’s nothing that can beat binge-watching in a millennial’s life. Now as we about consuming all the fabulous content that’s available on OTT platforms, the show makers are also brainstorming for newer ideas. Well, Tv czarina Ekta Kapoor certainly is.
Not only has she announced season five of her popular show Naagin, but Ekta has also made an interesting revelation about season three of Kehno Ko Humsafar Hain that airs on ALT Balaji. Produced by Goldie Behl and Shristi Arya Behl, the show explores the complexities of marriage and relationships. Ronit Roy, Gurdip Punjj and Mona Singh play pivotal roles in this series. The trailer for season 3 released a week ago. The show is all set to air on ALT Balaji on June 6.
Speaking about the show to an entertainment daily, Ekta Kapoor said, “Men associate infidelity with the physical (act of cheating), whereas, for women, it is about emotional (indiscretion). It is the lack of communication that breaks down a relationship.”
She further revealed, “The fourth season may be based on the real-life story of a Bollywood star wife’s extra-marital affair. It will have a fresh cast.” Well, it looks like she has some interesting plans for the coming seasons of the show.
For now, season 3 will focus on breaking some societal taboos, “If a woman in her 40s is divorced, she can fall in love again with a man, irrespective of his age. She has the right to make that decision without thinking about society,” Ekta added.
From Broken But Beautiful, Test Case to Haq Se, Ekta Kapoor’s ALT Balaji sure has given us some successful shows. And it looks like she is finally moving away from her regressive saas-bahu shows. So is she going to rule the world of OTT platforms as well? Now, that’s something we are yet to see.
