The last few days have been all about Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and their much-awaited wedding at Lake Como, Italy. And when the newlyweds finally posted their wedding pictures on Instagram, at 8 PM last night, all hell broke because they looked just too ‘made for each other’ to be true. In head-to-toe Sabyasachi ensembles, DeepVeer made us believe in love and holy matrimony with just two pictures.
We saw Bollywood celebrities congratulating the couple, a meme riot that took over the world wide web, sweet messages floating about especially the one Ranveer’s dad had for the new bahu, but amidst all this mush, you probably missed out on the shinest detail from DeepVeer ki shaadi. He liked it, he put a ring on it and a big one while at it!

Since they blessed our Instagram feeds with only two pictures, we had nothing better to do than stare at them for as long as we could. And then the zoom lens in our eyes caught a look at Deepika’s engagement ring that Ranveer gave to her.
Deepika was wearing statement rings in all her fingers but we have our eyes on one. An emerald cut, 20 carats (our guess) diamond ring! Although, we are a little confused about the exact design – what looks like a two-solitaire ring could also be three – we are sure we want something like this ruling our ring finger.

An emerald cut is a cut in a square shape with stepped facets. The unique design makes it stand out and easy to spot no matter how much jewellery you have on.
Even though we are not sure where the ring is from and how much does it cost, this cut and carat usually start at Rs 1 crore. We have seen a lot of jaw-dropping engagement rings in Bollywood – Shahid and Mira, Virat and Anushka, Sonam and Anand – DeepVeer’s ring beat them all in terms of price. There’s no telling how much it cost exactly because we don’t know the clarity and colour grade of the diamond but it’s safe to say that it would cost upwards of Rs 1.8 crore. To be honest, we are not that surprised! This is a typical Ranveer move.
Deepika and Ranveer are coming back to India on 17th November. They are hosting two wedding receptions – one on 21st November in Bangalore for their extended families and the second one on 28th November in Mumbai for the Bollywood fraternity. We can’t wait for more pictures. But until then, don’t stop looking for your Ranveer, ladies. *Wink*
