Ranveer Singh has been in the industry for nearly a decade now, with 12 movies listed in his biography. That brings his average to slightly more than one movie in a year. True, he doesn’t do a lot of films back-to-back but when he does, he makes sure his exemplary performance bags him all the awards and critics’ appreciation. Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani are proof of it. Soon, we’ll be able to say the same for his latest release Gully Boy.

Currently, Ranveer is taking his time to prep for his upcoming film ’83, which is a biopic on our former Indian Cricket Captain, Kapil Dev. The news of Ranveer playing Kapil Dev first came out two years ago. There were rumours that Deepika Padukone will play his wife in the movie, especially after the two tied the knot in November last year. Now for real, his wifey is all set to play the part!
Deepika has joined the cast of ’83 and is all set to play Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi Dev, in the film. Ranveer just announced her entry with Instagram posts and it’s pretty clear he can’t keep calm anymore. Here, have a look:

“*drum roll* All smiles as All-star @deepikapadukone joins the #83squad !!! 😁🙌🏽🌟,” wrote the actor on this picture of himself, DP and Kabir Khan, the film’s director.

This is such a happy picture! “Who better to play My Wifey than My Wifey?! 😉❤️,” captioned Ranveer. ’83 will be their fifth movie together including Finding Fanny, in which Ranveer had a cameo.

In fact, Deepika also posted these pictures on her Instagram saying how incredibly honoured she is to be a part of the film. To this, Ranveer jokingly commented:

Currently, the film is being shot in Glasgow, Scotland. It’s slated for release on April 10, 2020, and also features Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi and Ammy Virk in key roles. Other than ’83, Ranveer Singh has two more projects lined up including Sooryavanshi and Takht, both due for release in 2020. Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, just wrapped up her next film Chhapaak, which is all set to release on January 10, 2020. Wow! 2020 sure is a crucial year for the newlyweds.
