Deepika Padukone is not only known as an actor but also as an inspiration in more ways than one. From being vocal about depression and educating people on the importance of mental health to producing and doing a movie based on the real-life tale of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal (in Chhapaak), Deepika is one celebrity who strikes a chord with us on a relatable, human level. In three days from now, the actress is turning 34 and, once again, she has managed to touch our hearts with the way she plans on celebrating her birthday.
Deepika’s birthday falls on January 5, just a few days before Chhapaak hits the theatres. According to various reports, the actress, who will be in Lucknow on January 5 promoting her film, will be spending time at a cafe there owned by acid attack survivors. She would then head to the national capital, Delhi, for further promotions.

A source close to the actress revealed, “She is travelling to Lucknow to celebrate the day at a cafe run by acid attack survivors. Besides the eatery’s staff, acid attack survivors from neighbouring cities will also be a part of the celebrations. Deepika will leave for Delhi later in the day to resume the promotional rounds of Chhapaak.“
Chhapaak is a movie extremely close to DP’s heart. The actress even broke down at the trailer launch saying, “It’s a very important film and I feel that the story which we are showcasing in our film needs to be told.” For those who don’t know, Chhapaak will be Deepika’s first film after her wedding to Ranveer Singh in 2018. In fact, it is also her first film as a producer. It also stars Vikrant Massey in a vital role.
The actress will also be seen in ’83, opposite Ranveer Singh who plays the role of World-Cup winning captain Kapil Dev. In the film, she will play the role of Romi, the former skipper’s wife. We can’t wait already!
Chhapaak is all set to release on January 10. We are sure future award shows will have Deepika Padukone bagging all the awards, after watching the spine-chilling trailer.
