The latest trend to hit wardrobes is the boiler suit and just like that, utility dressing is back. It’s a full-length outfit, like a jumpsuit, where comfort comes at par with style. Street style fashion is highly dominated by the boxy, pocket-heavy style especially in the International scenario.
Deepika Padukone’s latest look is a hint at India’s eagerness to pave the way too. And joining her are Bollywood actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ananya Panday. Recently, all three of them wore the trend in their own style and we’re intrigued. They wore a muted version of the boiler suit with an all-denim jumpsuit that (a) is loose-fitting, (b) has huge functional pockets, and (c) is chicness overload.

All set for the Met Gala 2019, that happens on the first Monday of May (which is today), Deepika was spotted at the Mumbai airport heading for the USA in a denim jumpsuit by Agolde. She styled it with a black travel bag by Celine, tinted round sunglasses and satin-finish fuschia heeled mules by Balenciaga. Needless to say, the look has gone viral. Heartily enjoying this fusion of casual and classy, aren’t we? We wonder what she’ll wear to the Met Ball now that our expectations have been set so high.

She went for a clean look with an easy-looking, minimal pocket design. Contrary to DP’s denim belt, Bebo’s suit had a tie-up fastening further simplifying the outfit. What it lacks in structure, her look makes up for it with a blingy handbag. So kudos to her stylist for that.
Ananya Panday’s look is college couture at its finest but does it work for the summer?

It does! Ananya wore an acid-washed denim jumpsuit that looks as structured as Deepika’s and as easy-breezy as Kareena’s. She accessorised it with chunky sneakers (we’re all for the 2010’s trend of contrast laces, what a comeback!), matching retro sunnies and a statement sling bag. The folded hems of the trousers and roughly done cuffs that say, ‘I’m ready for you, summer’.
