Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are one of the hottest couples in Bollywood right now. And, let’s admit it, we still can’t get over their oh-so-dreamy wedding pictures. The newlyweds (as we still like to call them) frequently indulge in PDA on social media and their cute antics have given us enough reasons to constantly go ‘awww’. Now, once again, #DeepVeer are ruling the headlines, because DP finally opened up about the pregnancy rumours.
A few months ago, Ranveer Singh had gone live on Instagram, and his fans had spotted a comment from wifey saying, “Hi daddie.” Soon enough, the internet took it as a cryptic message about them expecting a baby. Addressing the rumours, the actress said that she wasn’t surprised. She added, “We’re not surprised by it at all. Do we intend on having children? Of course, we do, we both love kids. But do we intend on having children anytime soon? Absolutely not! We’re too selfishly focused on our careers and I don’t think it would be fair to have kids at this point. We’re not even thinking about kids.”
“I think it’s sad that society kind of puts itself and people in this rut that okay you are dating for so long toh shaadi kab hogi, shaadi ke baad bachhe and then grandchildren. It’s almost like it’s the said expectation,” she added.
We feel you, Deepika!
On Wolrd Mental Health Day yesterday, the actress launched The Deepika Padukone Closet on her website. The section lets you shop for DP’s favourite outfits from her own wardrobe, all for a cause. The proceeds will go to her foundation, The Live Love Laugh Foundation, to help people struggling with mental illness.
Deepika shared the video with her fans on Instagram with the caption, “To each and every one of you, this #WorldMentalHealthDay I am delighted to announce the launch of The Deepika Padukone Closet where you can shop and own some of my most favourite pieces from my wardrobe! Lots of Love, Deepika.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. She will also be seen in the sports drama ‘83 opposite husband Ranveer Singh. The movie is based on India’s iconic win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. While Ranveer plays Kapil Dev, Deepika stars as his wife Romi Dev.
