Owing to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, the big fat Indian wedding industry has been affected drastically. Large gatherings have been ruled out and for many, their D-day is turning out to be much, much different from what they had planned for their special day.
However, there are some who are determined to make their special day a memorable one, even if that means swapping traditional wedding with a subdued zoom celebration or getting married donning fancy masks and following hygiene standards. Rachita Shah and Virat Luhar from Mumbai is one such couple who recently got married and made their intimate ceremony all about love.
Fashion stylist and designer Rachita tied the knot with beau Virat, who is a wedding planner himself and the co-founder of Meraki Luxury Events, last month. The wedding happened at Sofitel Hotel in Bandra Kurla Complex and it was magical. They got rokafied on March 12 and wanted a destination shaadi but then came the pandemic and they had to change their wedding plans.
With less than two weeks to plan the wedding, the couple (and Meraki Luxury Events) did an amazing job while keeping all safety measures in place. Mentioning that they had a Gujarati wedding, Virat said that the pandit (who performed the ceremony) is a family friend and was tested before the shaadi.

Your Guide To Rachita’s Minimal & Gorg Makeup!
Neha Singh
Rachita went for a simple look and her makeup artist Neha Singh made sure she was happy. Neha started off with prepping her skin by moisturising her skin. A perfect base is your key to a fab makeup look. As Rachita has combination skin, Neha went for two foundations–Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup With SPF 10 (Cashew) and Silk Luminous Foundation By Giorgio Armani– and gave her that perfect bridal glow.
Here’s an alternative that you can go for:
For Rachita’s eyes, Neha used the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette Remastered. She gave her soft smokey eyes with the eyeshadow fading into the colour of her outfit. She gave the eyeliner a miss and finished Rachita’s look with lots of mascara.
For contouring, Neha used the multi-purpose Exposed Cheek Palette by NARS Cosmetics. She also used the same palette as a blusher. With just a hint of blush on Rachita’s cheeks, Neha gave her the subtle yet elegant look that the bride was aiming for.
MyGlamm’s Chisel It Contour Kit – Show Stopper is another great alternative for creating this look. Check it out!
She then used the highlighter from Becca Cosmetics but didn’t go overboard with it. Neha used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette to give Rachita those bright plum lips that matched her lehenga perfectly.
You can also opt for Manish Malhotra’s Liquid Matte Lisptic by MyGlamm:
At the end, Neha made sure to use the makeup setting spray from Urban Decay, considering it was going to be a sunny day and the couple had an outdoor wedding.

For her hair, Rachita went for a sleek bun with minimal floral accessories.
She Designed Her Own Bridal Outfit!
Coming to her bridal outfit, Rachita designed her own lehenga. She went for a pink lehenga made out of a traditional Banarasi fabric. “I am a sucker for basics, so I knew I wanted something simple and elegant, which was traditional at the same time,” said Rachita.
