The rapists of Nirbhaya will hang, Supreme Court has ruled. The judges have denied the request to give her rapists and murderers a life sentence. Instead, the death sentence has been upheld and the three accused will be rightfully hanged.
The verdict that came out on 9th July hit home with most of us. I grew up from a teenager to an adult, wondering why it was taking so long to punish the accused. But the judicial system of India has not let us down in this case. It will give the accused one more chance of challenging the judgement by going to the President for a mercy plea. We’re sure that even that would be rejected and justice will be served.
