The Bold Type is a show that has everyone hooked currently. Even though the series is a few years old it recently came on Netflix and everyone obsessed. It’s probably one of the most progressive shows on TV right now and we love the representation of female friendships and queer relationships and even talks about pertinent issues like #MeToo and breast cancer.
The three main characters, Sutton, Jane, and Kat are fiercely loyal to each other, go-getters in their professions, and know-how to look good and feel great. After binge-watching and finishing four seasons in a matter of days we are completely in awe. So, today we’re going to talk about some beauty lessons we’ve learned from the show.
5 Beauty Lessons We’ve Learned From The Bold Type
Poppy Colours Always Cheer You Up
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Jane Sloan and her makeup looks, it’s that lipstick goes a long way. She always picks peach and pink tones and wears a comfortable satin-matte formula. After all, she wants to be comfortable while also looking chic while spending all day writing away for Scarlet Magazine.
Flushed Cheeks Will Forever Be On-Trend
Sutton Brady aka the fashion guru of the crew rocks flushed cheeks all the time. She applies blush to the apples of her cheeks and takes it all the way up to her temples creating an angular and lifted effect. This look works for a casual office look or even when paired with a bold, red lip for the night.
You Look Your Best When You’re Smiling
The cutest parts in The Bold Type are when our three protagonists are together opening up about their feelings or when they’re just hugging each other. It just goes to prove that you look your best when you feel your best and when you’re in the company of people who love you and hype you up.
Scarves Are This Season’s ‘It’ Hair Accessories
Hairr accessories are really having their moment in the sun RN. From OTT scrunchies to printed scarves, they’re all the rage on Instagram. Well, Kat Stevens surely knows this cause her gorgeous hairstyles are accentuated with these accessories and they look fab. From top knots to space buns, the social media maven knows how to rock ’em.
Vajacials May Not Be The Safest Idea
The beauty world is constantly selling us new things- creams, serums, masks but they took it up a notch when vajacials aka vagina facials became a thing. In The Bold Type, Jane gets one and ends up with the worst yeast infection ever, giving us all a fair warning that vulvas aren’t supposed to be tampered with, they’re supposed to smell as they do and facials should be restricted to the face!
So, tell us, have you binge-watched the show yet, or is it on your Netflix must-watch list?
