The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has won the general election with 345 seats, a clear majority. After the clean sweep victory, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “Together we grow. Together we prosper. Together we will build a strong and inclusive India. India wins yet again! #VijayiBharat.”

Many Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate PM Narendra Modi. Among them was director Anurag Kashyap, who also sent good wishes for the Prime Minister, but also made an appeal to him. Anurag has never held himself back from criticising the government. His Twitter bio reads “Neither Left nor Right or Centre. I am Diagonal.”

While Anurag congratulated the Prime Minister for the win, he subtly took a sarcastic dig at him by asking him a solution for the nuisance that his followers create by harassing people. Anurag addressed his tweet to Narendra Modi, “Dear @narendramodi sir. Congratulations on your victory and thank you for the message of inclusiveness. Sir please also tell us how do we deal with these followers of yours who celebrate your victory by threatening my daughter with messages like this for me being your dissenter.”
Along with the tweet, the director also shared the image of a comment on his daughter Aaliya’s picture. This person, who is apparently a Modi follower, made a comment that had malicious intent directed towards her. He also threatened Aaliya of rape if her father continued to voice opinions against the Prime Minister.
The troll who threatened Aaliyah was criticised on the public platform and many said that he must be psychologically disturbed for harassing Anurag’s innocent daughter who is just a teenager.
Film trade analyst Akshaye Rathi commented the tweet and said, “Even though we are at the opposite ends when it comes to our political stance, I stand with you & Aaliyah on this. There are idiots across party lines who talk rubbish & must be condemned, discouraged & not given the only thing they seek – a few minutes of cheap publicity.”
A lot of Twitter users condemned the troll for his deplorable comments and stood by Anurag Kashyap.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anurag Kashyap is currently working on Saand Ki Aankh, starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.
