Troll Of The Year? Ananya Panday Gets Slammed For A Spelling Mistake In Her Tweet

‘Smart, bubbly and cute’, these are the first three words that come to my mind when I think about Chunky Panday’s darling daughter Ananya Panday. The Student Of The Year 2 actress has amassed a huge fan following. She is, probably, the most talked about celebrity kid, who grabbed the limelight even before the release of her first film (SOTY2). While Ananya may be new to the movies, but she is definitely popular in the troll world out there. And unfortunately, the star kid became a victim of baseless trolling yet again. Why? She misspelt a word in her Twitter caption.

Instagram

A while back, Ananya shared two pictures with BFFs Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor on Twitter (the one that was clicked by Shah Rukh Khan). In her caption, she wrote ‘Angles’ instead of ‘Angels’. The minute she uploaded the picture, she was trolled for the spelling error. Ananya was quick to realise her mistake, she deleted the tweet and uploaded the pictures again with the correct caption.

But, what all these faceless netizens need, is the slightest of reasons to target a celebrity. The error looks like a simple autocorrect mistake to us. Don’t we all make this mistake?

Here’s what all the trolls wrote:

Earlier, during promotions for SOTY 2, Ananya, in an interview for a leading daily, spoke about how one should deal with trolling. She said, “I think you need to take it positively and at the same time, not too seriously because it can get to your head. However, one should know that at the end of the day, you are here to act and that’s what people [actors] should be here for.”

She also spoke about how social media is a blessing and helps connect with the youth. She added, “Today, we have a lot of young people, who have access to our pictures. They can directly see what we are up to. Also, I believe getting the youth on your side is extremely important, especially for someone like me since I am also a millennial and that age. That’s why I know that when I look up to someone, I follow them on Instagram, so that way, it’s [following on social media] a good thing.”

A week ago, Ananya was also in the news for her new initiative to tackle cyberbullying. She launched ‘So Positive’ (SO+) – an online platform to combat social media bullies, who according to Ananya, are nothing more than “faceless, unidentified, unverified and newly made social media accounts.” She posted a two-minute video that explained the idea behind it. She captioned the video: “A part of growing up is taking responsibility & as a woke Millennial I, Ananya Panday introduce y’all to my Digital Social Responsibility initiative ‘So+’ ❤️ @sopositivedsr #SoPositive #SocialForGood”

The initiative is centered around extending support and providing guidance to people by collaborating with helpful entities such as government organisations and lawyers.
