Exactly a year ago, Sonam Kapoor tied the knot with Delhi-based entrepreneur Anand Ahuja in a wedding that was more like a three-day festival. The couple got married in a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony, in the presence of close family, friends and the entire Bollywood. Since then, Anand and Sonam’s #EverydayPhenomenal PDA has made their fans gush every time the couple posted an adorable picture on Instagram.

Anand and Sonam have never shied away from publicly expressing their love for each other. So, when it came to wishing his wife on their first anniversary, Anand had the most amazing thing to say about Sonam. He took to Instagram and shared a series of their ‘shoefies’ along with a heartfelt caption.

We all know that both Sonam and Anand obsessed with shoes. So, posting a collage of their shoe selfies together only made sense. In his post, Anand thanked Sonam for keeping him grounded and grateful: “Some of my favourite #shoefies w my bunny (scroll to see our first one ever)… I love posting these not because I love shoes (and you KNOW I love shoes) but because the idea of looking down reminds me to stay present, grounded and most importantly grateful! I could tell you exactly where we were and what we were feeling at the time I took these…”
Anand further described all the things he loved about his wife: “Today, to reflect on 1 year of marriage and 3 years being together – nothing could be more of a blessing than to have your life partner be your best friend and also be the person that is supportive but pushes you to be better… to be the person that is unconditionally loving but will tell you when you’re wrong … and to be the person that will lead you into and through your fears – not allowing you to run away from them. Happy Anniversary to my @sonamkapoor… you’re my guiding star!”
Anand met Sonam in 2014 through her stylist friend Pernia Qureshi. Apparently, Anand proposed to Sonam a month after being introduced to her. The couple turned heads when they attended Rustom‘s success party in 2016 together. It was their first public appearance, and rumours began spreading like wildfire, but Sonam chose not to address them. However, two years later, she married Anand and called him ‘the love of his life’. Aaaww!
Sonam’s sister and sister Rhea Kapoor was among the first ones to wish Anand and Sonam. She took to Instagram to post an adorable picture of the couple and had the sweetest message for them: “Happy anniversary family!!!!! I love you both more than hot sauce. #everydayphenomenal #hujas @sonamkapoor @anandahuja”
