This year at Lakmé Fashion Week, makeup was celebrated! While almost every second pout was painted nude, it was the wild, crazy eye makeup that grabbed everyone’s attention. Graphic liners, poppin’ inner corners, glittery metallic lids, bold brows and of course, a lot of glow! If you’re familiar with the ‘clean colour’ makeup trend, then you probably would have seen a lot of it at the LFW SR’20. The trend is basically about pairing splashy, vibrant colours with minimalistic lips and skin. There are a variety of ways that you can play with the trend and the good people at LFW have done absolute justice to it!
11 Amazing Beauty Looks We Spotted At LFW 2020
These makeup looks scream drama in the most aesthetic way possible. While some of the makeup looks are wearable, a handful of them demand your attention.
Freckles Be So Pretty
There’s nothing prettier than the sight of freckles on the face. Even if the freckles had to be created by hand, the final look is intended to give a raw, natural finish to the skin. It’s not just the freckles that grabbed eyeballs, the glow on the cheekbones and the ombre metallic eye deserve all the love in the world too!
2. A Pop of Yellow
Remember, we spoke about the ‘clean colour’ makeup trend in the introduction? This is proof that the trend is gaining popularity one runway at a time. Models from Tanieya Khanuja were spotted wearing mustard yellow on the inner corner and washed out brick red colour on the lids. The rest of the makeup was kept subtle, fresh and minimal.
3. That Red Double Mod Eyeliner Though
Remember we did something similar to this on Valentine’s Day? Instead of doing the double mod eyeliner, we did a red-winged eyeliner. This one though is a more alluring version of it. Also, the red liner is teamed with red lipstick and coral shimmer blush. That’s another monotone version that you need to try!
4. Topknots & Kohl Rimmed Eyes
Let’s take a mini-break from makeup now and shift our attention to hair, shall we? This fun topknot teamed with kohl-rimmed eyes and glowy skin is bound to make one hell of an impression. Plus, the creamy nude lippie and that slight hint of blush is complementing the rest of her makeup look and hairstyle.
5. The Avant Garde Route
This makeup bold, loud and oh-so-artsy. You can recreate the look too by gently applying red matte lipstick or red eyeshadow and blending it till the colour has covered the lids, the brow area and the beginning of the bridge of the nose. To avoid going OTT, you can balance the look by opting a subtle lipstick shade.
6. Like A Neon Boomerang
If you were at the Raab by Sadhna show, you’d notice that the collection was the perfect blend of style and sustainability. While the outfits were mostly in colours of earthy browns and whites, the makeup was the complete opposite. Most of the models walked the ramp wearing this neon powdered highlighter that started all the way from the forehead and ended at the cheekbone. This loud look was paired with nude lips and a pretty topknot!
7. Let’s Talk Hair
This half up half down ponytail is anything but boring! A hairstyle like this one is so easy and simple to create and looks futuristic and trendy as well. Just after you wrap the pony with a sheet of foil, tie a knot to secure it and use hairspray to tame flyaways.
8. Smokey Plum Eyeshadow For The Win
Malavika Mohanan walked the ramp for Rajdeep Ranawat and Tanieya Khanuja. While she looked like a beauty in that rainbow sequin gown, we can’t help but appreciate her purple smokey eye makeup. With brows on point and creamy nude pout – our diva looks like a bombshell.
9. Shine Bright Like A Diamond
One of the prettiest makeup looks we spotted at this year was at Shivan & Narresh’s show. Paste-on crystals, a thick coat of eyeliner and mascara-coated lashes – we saw and loved them ALL!
10. The Face Is Your Universe
Probably the boldest makeup look from the lot. From oversized lashes to neon lined lips and massive glittery headgear, this makeup look from Manish Arora’s show had us shook! If you take a look at the makeup, you’ll notice that it portrays a galaxy! And the diamond stickies are just stars.
11. Bebo Makes A Mane Statement
We saved the best for last. Bebo doesn’t just steal the cake here, but the whole bakery with her soft makeup look and twisted low ponytail. The beauty is that this look is such a wearable, modern look, ANY of us can pull it off.
Which LFW beauty look do you want to try out? We bet all of ’em!
