Aaradhya Bachchan Has The Cutest Reaction To Mom Aishwarya Lending Her Voice To Maleficent

No one except Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can match Angelina Jolie when it comes to transforming into the powerful fairy, Maleficent, in the sequel to the 2014 Disney hit, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The actress will lend her voice to Jolie’s character in the Hindi version of the film. A few days ago, ARB took to her Instagram to share the news. She wrote, “Maleficent. Happy to be part of the Disney Family.” And, we have to say, her look from the teaser is gold! Haven’t seen it yet? Take a look here:

Doesn’t she look a LOT like Jolie in that goth avatar? This is the first time she has dubbed for another actor and that too for a Hollywood film. “This is the first time when I am not playing the character but dubbing for some other artist,” said the actress.

Recently at the trailer launch of the film, Aishwarya spoke about how her daughter Aaradhya loved the first film. She also revealed her reaction to ARB being part of the sequel. “My kid loved it. It was almost like some divine decision making because three days later, I get this mail on my phone when I was putting Aaradhya to bed. I was setting the alarm. And I read it and said it aloud, ‘Maleficent’. Aaradhya heard it, and asked me, are you doing the film. So her eyes lit up when she heard about the project,” said the actress.

Now, take a look at Aishwarya’s look from the trailer launch. She opted for an all-black outfit, and while we’re not sure about it, we loved ARB’s minimal and dewy makeup.

ARB also spoke about whether Aaradhya and her mommy will ever share the screen. She said, “I don’t know what life has in store for me or for her. So live each moment for what it is, and let’s see.”

Earlier, in an interview, Disney India Head, Bikram Duggal, explained why Aishwarya was chosen for the desi version of the film. He said, “Looking at how Angelina Jolie fits Maleficent’s role down to the letter, it was hard to imagine anyone else essaying the character other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for our local audience. We wanted to bring her character to life in Hindi and felt Aishwarya’s persona, which is filled with elegance and poise, would be a perfect blend.”

We agree with Bikram on this!
