We’re avid #ThrowbackThursday followers. Who doesn’t love approaching the end of a work week with a strong hit of nostalgia? Whether it is chomping on pudina flavoured Uncle Chips, fawning over a 20-year-old Leonardo Di Caprio or listening to 70s musical gems. And that’s the thing about fashion, it acts as your very own time machine for a throwback on any day of the week.
So, imagine just how pleasantly surprised we were with Aditi Rao Hydari’s Insta-story and pictures on the ‘gram yesterday! You’ll get why we started humming ‘Hava Ke Saath Saath’, the 70’s Bollywood musical hit, right after you see it.
You’re humming it too now, aren’t you? It’s hard not to. Aditi looks like a vintage Bollywood heroine in a breezy bespoke anarkali and churidaar by Indian wear designer Abhinav Mishra.
Even though some might call her Indian look simple, the embroidery on her dupatta and the woven polka pattern on her kurta make it special. Her traditional South Indian gold jhumkis contribute to the 70’s vibe too, don’t they? That lovely yellow kurta and that gust of wind truly do make for a great #TBT moment.
But wait, the road to nostalgia doesn’t end there. The humming is about to get louder…
Yes, the images that followed of Aditi Rao Hydari sitting on her ‘limo for the day’, a striking blue Premier Padmini, are even better. The sunshine yellow of Aditi’s scallop hemmed kurta with the car’s blue in the background is a retro sight for sore eyes!
The actress put on this simple yet beautiful ensemble to shoot for her film, down south, with co-star Varun Konidela.
We don’t know about you but we’re going to have our eyes glued to the actress starting now. Thanks for the throwback, Aditi!
