The Micro Bindi Is The Easiest Way To Elevate Your Festive Look!

With both the festive and wedding season in full swing, we’re all on the lookout for new ways to upgrade our ethnic looks. While outfits have remained the same, a simple way to make jaws drop and eyes pop is with new beauty trends. And with minimalism and natural makeup looks taking over our feeds, if you think there’s nothing new to add to your look, think again.

Enter, the micro bindi. It’s a hot hit with our favourite Bollywood celebs – from GenZ stars like Suhana Khan to millennials like Alia Bhatt.

What Is The Micro Bindi?

A bindi is a dot applied on the forehead, just between the eyebrows. It usually varies in size, and colour and can be either drawn on or stuck on. A micro bindi, as the name suggests, is the miniature version of the classic bindi and is the perfect addition to round up a minimal ethnic beauty look.

Bollywood Celebrities Who Love The Micro Bindi

Alia Bhatt

One of the first to kickstart the trend, Alia added a minuscule black bindi to round up her ethnic look. It paired well with her kohl-lined eyes and nude lip look.

Katrina Kaif

Complementing her flushed lips and dewy skin look, Katrina elevated her minimal glamm look with a basic miniature green bindi, contrasting her baby pink outfit.

Janhvi Kapoor

Most of Janhvi’s beauty looks pay homage to the old-world charm vibe. Her voluminous waves, fluttery lashes, soft, pink lips, and barely-there blush blend into the aesthetic so well. paired with a purple micro bindi, this is one of my favourite looks of her’s so far!

Ananya Panday

A basic bindi is too minimal for your desi look? Cue, Panday’s shimmery sequin-like bindi that is still small enough to be called a micro bindi, but visible enough to elevate your look.

Sara Ali Khan

An ethnic beauty trend and Sara’s not on the list? Impossible! The actress sported the micro bindi long before the other actresses got a whiff of it. Don’t believe me? Take a look at her picture from Zara Hatke Zara Bachke with Vicky Kaushal that she shot last year!

Suhana Khan

Suhana may not have made her debut yet, but she’s already a star. I’m digging her glowy makeup aesthetic with a simple red micro bindi and gorgeous wavy hair. It makes her really stand out without trying too hard.

Karisma Kapoor

Not just the millennials and GenZ, but even GenX has caught up with the trend. Karisma Kapoor’s ethnic wardrobe might be enviable, but it was her silver micro bindi that added a twinkle to this look, no?

The DeLegarde Tiny Small Bindis is an excellent choice and is affordable if you’re looking for a shimmery micro bindi like Ananya or Karisma.

IMO, using coloured eyeliner to create your micro bindi is one of the most underrated beauty hacks this season. It’s easy and it works every time. Don’t be afraid to experiment here, you can even use your liquid lipstick to do this. To apply the bindi, use the back of a thin makeup brush or the back of a Q-tip or a matchstick to create your very own DIY micro bindi. My trusted all-time favourite is the POPxo Liquid Eyeliner Kit. It’s available in two variants – Eye Gotchu and Issa Vibe, with all the colours you’ll need!

I’ve never been a fan of bindis, but this micro version is a look that I can’t wait to try out!
