“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon … bas rukna nahi chahta”
For an entire generation, this dialogue of Bunny (played by Ranbir Kapoor) in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani became the biggest travel inspiration. In the last decade, no ensemble cast film has touched the youth like YJHD. As a YJHD stan, there is only one question that I continue to have about the film —Will there be a sequel? Finally, I have an update.
In a recent fan interaction, Ranbir opened up on the possibility of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2 and he has a lot to say. The actor said that YJHD would make for a ‘good sequel’ and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji even had a ‘nice story’ for it.
“Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where they are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters,” said Ranbir.
While I understand both Ranbir and Ayan have important projects in the pipeline, I wish they would take time out for the sequel of the 2013 release. And I can’t wait to see the chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika Padukone, the friendship between Deepika and Kalki, and the bromance between Ranbir and Aditya Roy Kapur!
