A few months ago, Kartik Aaryan announced he is all set to play the lead in Aashiqui 3 and took the internet by storm. Since then, there has been constant chatter about who’s going to play the female lead in this musical romance helmed by Anurag Basu. We have been hearing a lot of big names like Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon, and Shraddha Kapoor. For a while, fans were even convinced that TV star Jennifer Winget was going to romance Kartik. However, all these speculations have been finally put to rest, and we have a much clearer answer about the leading lady.
After a lot of tittle-tattle, we now have an update about the casting from the producer Mukesh Bhatt himself. The makers intend to launch a fresh face opposite the Freddy star for the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise. We hear that the casting process has already begun. Mukesh Bhatt confirmed this and said, “We are still looking. I am going through a very extensive search. We want to introduce a new face for Aashiqui 3.”
The producer further added that the shooting will begin next year and stated that they are still getting the script ready. Giving us an insight into the preps of the film, another close source revealed, “The shoot schedule has been worked upon, and there are multiple facets that have been considered to lock down the female lead of the film. It’s slated to hit the floors in 2023 and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to have a formidable cast in place. All the permutations and combinations need to fall into place before a formal announcement is made. By year-end, the female lead of Aashiqui 3 is expected to be locked.”

Kartik is super excited about this film. He shared in a recent interview, “The timeless classic Aashiqui is something I grew up watching and working on Aashiqui 3 is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”
TBH, Kartik’s charm is enough to sweep anyone off their feet. So, regardless of who plays the lead opposite him, we’re sure it’ll be an epic romance. Here’s hoping that the film hits the screens ASAP!
