For the longest time, I was hoping for a new Bollywood on-screen jodi to ship for and my prayers have been answered. All thanks to Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal starring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan! The film’s trailer has already creatde quite a buzz on social media with its unusual take on World War 2.
Recently, Varun opened up on the extreme measures he had to take to get into his character. In fact, he even ignored Janhvi to prepare for the role. The two didn’t talk for the first month of the shoot and the Badlapur star had his reason for it. Scroll down to know the deets:
In an interview, Varun said, “Because I felt we’ll become friends like this (snaps). I said let me not and let me be a little aloof, a little cold. I’ll talk to everyone else but her, and purposely. I felt it might evoke something in her and something in me when we were doing scenes of that nature.”
Don’t worry, Varun had let Janhvi know of his reasons and she was on board with the plan. The actor admitted that he acted “selfishly” but it helped the two with their performance.
In all honestly, I am impressed by Varun’s commitment to method acting. In fact, Bawaal’s trailer itself is enough to convince anyone about hard Varun and Janhvi have worked on the project. Scroll down to take a look:
