Remember the frenzy when Farhan Akhtar announced Jee Le Zaraa? We were so excited while imagining how it will be a women-centric (and possibly cooler) version of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Well, you know what we did, fam? We jinxed it!
Currently, there is a lot of uncertainty around the much-awaited film. In fact, Jee Le Zaraa hasn’t even gone on the floors even after two years of its announcement. Things aren’t looking good at the moment and the rumours of the lead cast exiting the film aren’t helping either. Just recently, we heard that Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra aren’t willing to pursue the film anymore. While Katrina’s team has denied the claims, it looks like Priyanka is officially out of the equation.
PC Has A Genuine Reason To Quit
A source close to the production team has confirmed PC’s exit in a recent interaction with a popular daily. They shared, “Priyanka was not able to commit the dates to shoot in 2023 due to her Hollywood commitments and she asked Farhan if they could shoot for Jee Le Zaraa next year. While Farhan was fine with it, Alia Bhatt is already committed to shooting for Ramayana and Baiju Bawra in 2024, so it didn’t work out.”
Is It Game Over For Jee Le Zaraa?
People are speculating that the film will be shelved as Farhan hasn’t been able to make it with the lead cast that Jee Le Zaraa was written for. However, the source refuted the rumours and said, “There’s no truth in it. It’s a project which will definitely be made because it is very close to Farhan as well as Zoya.”
The source also commented on Kat’s rumoured exit and added, “Katrina is still on board and hasn’t walked out. She has a close bond with Farhan as well as Zoya after she did Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. So, there is no way that she will leave the project without any concrete reason. At the moment, she’s very much among the leading cast. And the worries around the film getting shelved are not relevant.”
We are sad that PC will no longer be a part of Jee Le Zaraa but perhaps it will be a great time to consider Deepika Padukone as the new lead. You can’t even imagine the social media frenzy. The Twitterati will have a field day, for sure!
