Remember when Priyanka Chopra was ruling Bollywood and suddenly decided to go global? Yea, the actual story is a little different! In a recent conversation with Dax Shepherd for his podcast Armchair Expert, Priyanka shared the ‘real reason’ behind her shift to Hollywood.
The Dostana star said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”
It is shocking to hear how Priyanka was struggling to stay in Bollywood. But her resilience took her to a whole new world of cinema and look at her slaying in Hollywood!
How Priyanka Went Global
In her conversation with Dax, Priyanka looked back at her journey and shared how she became a global star. It was Anjula Acharia of Desi Hits who spotted her. She asked if Priyanka would be interested in a music career in the US. That is when PC thought “fu** it, I’m going to America” and the rest is history.
After a bunch of music videos, Priyanka realised she was happier in acting roles. That’s when she started auditioning for different parts and eventually landed Quantico.
