His winning streak continued with Bigg Boss Marathi and he was crowned the winner of season two. Shiv is from Amravati in Maharashtra and owns a dance studio in his hometown.

Shiv was born and raised in Maharashtra and he has his mom, dad and sister Manisha Thakre in family. During his stay in the Bigg Boss house, he started dating his Bigg Boss Marathi fellow contestant Veena Jagtap but the two called off the relationship in 2021.
It was rumoured that Shiv Thakare was dating his Roadies co-contestant Shweta Mehta. The two never accepted their relationship in public.
